Rio & Jonah Hex trailers

Great to see Blue Sky’s ‘Rio’ trailer debuting! It was a fun project to help storyboard on, even for the short time that I was involved, and a BSS has great crew to work with. Here’s the clip, until a more official version is available.

Official site is HERE.

While we’re at it, check out the TV spot for the upcoming Jonah Hex movie! I was lucky enough to crank out a few boards on this one too, although I heard the sequence I did was cut due to budgetary stuff. I think it looks like a fun ‘popcorn-shoot’em-up’ anyway, so I’ll go see it!

Official site HERE.

How on Earth did I wind up getting a piece of these gigs? Well, House of Cool in Toronto is the house you want to work in. Let’s just say that. Thanks, Ricardo, for the hookup!

EDIT 6/22/10: Now that ‘Jonah Hex’ is in theatres, check out some boards I did for it HERE.

new article over at CAR.CA

I just posted a new showcase article over at Canadian Animation Resources about Christian Potenza, Canada’s hardest working voice actor. He’s got hisself a vidblog. Go check out the article -> HERE.

There’s a lot of behind the scenes footage of the life of a voice actor in the Great White North!

One Day at the Dog Park…

One Evening In Space…

Panic Button

hey howyadoin?

Welcome to the site, make yourself cozy.

I just thought I’d open this baby up seeing as there might be some traffic from Canadian Animation Resources coming this way. With the CAR.CA interviews I’m set on talking to talented folks who happen to be Canadian, or working in Canada.

There’s a lot of talented folks in Canada waiting for someone to back a quality idea. Some people, they don’t wait. They try. So I asked Mike Valiquette over at CAR.CA if I could help out. He’s trying.

By showing readers who’s doing it right on the wrong side of town, or who’s gone away never to come back, or those who choose to return and stay after a tour of duty abroad, I hope it’ll make YOU think it’s possible for you to follow them.

Or lead in a new direction.

It’s your choice.

There’s always a choice. OR IS THERE? Dun dun dunnnnn…ah whatevs.

The first of these attempts at informing your day is an interview with Eisner nominated creator Troy Little. Read it here, if you haven’t already.

NOTE -> I’m not quite done with this here blog yet, the paint’s barely dry and there’s still some finishing up to do in the ‘storyboards’ section – like add more sequences, etc. I’m in the middle of helping out a feature animation studio and pretty damn busy, so the updates here will be a slow trickle – at least until I have to look for work again.

But don’t let that stop you from cruising around a bit and dropping a note or using the Skype thingy over in the sidebar. That’s right, you can call me! Let’s chat it up, I don’t mind. I’m just as much of a socially inept twit as you are (and if you aren’t one, then be prepared to talk to one), so don’t be shy. I’m sure I’ll like you.

(Unless you’re another lonely guy/cybersex girl wannabe trying to ‘hook up’ & using Skype as a voyeur cruise line. If that’s you, expect to be hung up on ’cause that shit’s creeeeeeeeeeeepy.)

So kick the tires, cruise around, and drop some suggestions! Don’t forget to take my little ‘Studio Tour’ over there in the sidebar. Whenever I’m working at home, that’s where you’ll find me.

Later,

~ w.
